As soon as the ceremony started, everything was just meant to be beautiful.

I don't know if it's this wedding photography business or because I'm simply getting old, but I start to realize a rapid growth of sensitivity towards the weather inside me. Grey sky intimidates me like it's a floor full of Legos, and drops of rain twist my mind as if I'm a car fresh from the car wash. Even I get a bit jealous with my fellow photographers on duty when the sun sets like an orange porcelain plate while I'm sipping my warm coffee in my sitting room at home.

There are other things that get me nervous. The wedding rundown, for example. A rundown to me is like a map to a rally driver, an exam schedule to a college student, or Scofield's tattoo to Burrows. It's the manual of the day. I'll plot my strategy on how long I should spend taking pictures of a pair of shoes compared to the family portrait session based on that script. A rundown that allows me very little time for the bride's beauty session is a nightmare. No rundown at all, is infernal.

Unless that's not the case with Adrien & Severine wedding, who decided to eternalize their unity in Lombok. Not particularly a highlighted island compared to its next door neighbor Bali, and I had no idea what to expect since I've never been there either. However, they and their guests flew halfway around the world for the celebration. I spent 3 hours in boring airport procedures for a 15 minutes flight in cruising altitude, before landed on this quiet land most people fail to notice.

The venue is a villa located in Senggigi, west coast of Lombok. I heard that Adrien & Severine fell in love with this place while they spent a vacation here 2 years ago. I guess the same chemistry struck me when I arrived. I was welcomed by a path floating on a huge pond filled with water as clear as crystals and as steady as thousands of egg-shaped rocks resting beneath it. The smell of frangipani blends smoothly with the serene ambiance created by the tropical architecture and gorgeous view towards the Lombok strait.

Everything here made me so relaxed that I didn't hesitate to bet that this would be an extremely enjoyable wedding, loaded with magic and fun. There were nothing to worry about. Nothing. Every single thing that usually would irritate me down my spine didn't bother me even for just slight a bit.

It kept on raining the day before, tick. They hired no wedding organizers, tick. No fixed rundowns, tick. Three hours before the ceremony, the villa staff were still knocking down and re-ensembling the altar because they couldn't decide where it should be, tick. And 2 hours before the ceremony, they decided to repaint it, tick.

As soon as the ceremony started, everything was just meant to be beautiful. The venue was just meant to be idyllic. The guests were just meant to be fun. The vibe were just meant to be glorious. Adrien and Severine are just meant to be a perfect couple. They are the sweetest among all.

Let me show you a glimpse of this wonderful day that's just meant to be amazing.

Cheers,

Adi.
