Documenting weddings often feels like capturing a fleeting moment, but with Jimmy and Diah, it felt like witnessing something timeless.

I never take the responsibility of storytelling lightly, but documenting a day this deeply personal is a true honor. It is rare to witness a celebration that feels so entirely, unapologetically their own. In a world where weddings can feel like a curation of the latest trends, standing in the middle of their day felt like a deep and steady breath of fresh air.

Everything about this wedding felt intentional, and not because it was planned, but because it was rooted so deeply in the sense of traditions. From the weight of the gold details on their Balinese attire to the cadence of the ceremonial processions, you could see it in their faces. Jimmy and Diah were not just following tradition, they were breathing life into it.

What I personally will remember the most is of course the visual feast. The way the light hit the rich burgundy tones against the warm stone of The Meru Sanur, or how the grandeur of the evening felt perfectly grounded by the heritage they carried throughout the day.

Still, there was something more beyond that. What stayed with everyone was undoubtedly the atmosphere. It was the way their families, bridesmaids, and groomsmen showed up and leaned in the moments. They surrendered to the rituals, and in doing so, they created a kind of collective belonging that is simply indescribable.

There is a certain stillness that happens when a couple decides to stop performing for the camera and start living for their history. Jimmy and Diah are the type of couple who knows exactly who they are, where they come from, and invites you to celebrate it with them.

And for that, I am deeply grateful for the chance to eternalize such a meaningful chapter

Kris.
