Sumba, Still & Always Magical

Some parts of Indonesia may test your patience, but when it comes to natural beauty, this country still has places that feel almost untouched. That is why I always feel excited when couples choose Indonesia for their prewedding. There is something special about finding a destination close to home that still feels like an escape.

For me, Sumba has always been that place. People often ask if Sumba is still worth the trip after all these years. My answer is always yes. The island still carries a raw, honest beauty. The beaches are quiet, the savannahs stretch endlessly, the valleys feel wide open, and the roads are peaceful.

Another important point that people rarely mention is the traffic, or the lack of it. You can move from one location to another without crowds, noise, or rush. As a videographer, that kind of freedom lets you focus on the couple without distraction.

The nice thing about Sumba is that it suits almost any personality. You do not have to be adventurous or bold. Even calm and gentle couples blend beautifully into the landscape. This pair was exactly that. Soft, relaxed, and easy to film. My vision for them followed their pace, creating a soothing flow that focused on ambience, chemistry, and those small moments where love speaks quietly but clearly.

After filming in so many places, I still believe Sumba stands among the best. If you are considering a prewedding in Indonesia, Sumba is not just the perfect canvas, it is a place that leaves you with a magic entirely its own.

Robb.
