When couples think of a prewedding in Bali, the first image that often comes to mind is a beach at sunset. Beautiful, of course, but Bali has so much more to offer if you’re willing to look a little deeper. This shoot became a reminder of that.
We began at Sanctoo Suites & Villas in Gianyar, arriving by boat along the river. The mood was romantic, timeless, and airy. Being on the boat was also our biggest challenge. The space was narrow, so to get the right shots, we had to move carefully to the edge and find angles without disturbing the moment. But that intimacy became part of the story.
From there, we shifted to Bedugul’s forest area, where the tone changed completely. Cooler air, tall trees, and open space allowed us to explore a more fun and edgy side of the couple. It was playful, light, and refreshing.
We ended the day at Balquisse Heritage Hotel in Jimbaran, an indoor setting that brought elegance and warmth. This final chapter felt formal, romantic, and calm, a perfect contrast to the earlier scenes.
The couple, Daniel and Keisha, were shy in front of the camera, something they mentioned early on. Yet their chemistry was undeniable. The best scenes came when they forgot the camera was there, laughing and talking quietly together. That balance of romance and fun defined the entire shoot.
Looking back, this film feels true to who they are. It’s proof that a Bali prewedding can feel fresh, layered, and deeply personal, without ever leaving the island.
Leo.
