How did you meet and where?
“We met through Instagram 2 years ago. I later found out that Calvin had already noticed me before. 4 years prior, his friend had told him about me. We have a mutual friend who shares the same hometown as Calvin. Let’s call her ‘A’. Back in the days, I used to hang out with her during my university years. Calvin saw me on ‘A’s’ Instagram post, so he followed me and stalked me. Unfortunately, I had a boyfriend back then, so after he found out, he took a step back. Years after, we met again under a weird but better circumstance. I was skeptical at first, because Calvin’s hometown is far far away from mine. It’s like a whole different planet for me. I thought that this ain’t gonna work because of the distance. But after around 2 weeks of being in contact with each other, Calvin decided to go to Jakarta to meet me and that’s how it all started.” – Liana
Can you share some of your memorable dating moments? By the way, how long have you been dating?
“Since we are on a long distance relationship, for us every moment is memorable. We try to appreciate every little thing that we share. Calvin always tries to come over to meet me at least every two weeks. I remember on our last Valentine’s day, Calvin suddenly came to my flower shop without any notice. And that was just the beginning. A few days before Valentine’s, Calvin pretended to be one of my customers (using a different name!) and ordered 14 stems of roses. He said that it will be picked up on Valentine’s day. Long story short, on Valentine’s Day, I was so disappointed knowing that Calvin hadn’t brought me any flowers or gifts at all. At the end of day, he confessed that he was the one who bought those 14 stems of roses, and he arranged them in front of me (he learned from Youtube how to arrange flowers 101, LOL). I was stunned and really surprised at that time. I was so happy beyond words. We have now been dating for almost 2 years.” – Liana

“For me, Calvin is the most patient guy on earth. Ever. He literally is my happy pill.” – Liana

“Liana is a dreamer-slash-florist. She loves to travel and has a dream to travel around the world.” – Calvin
“Calvin does sports every day. He loves to play golf, go to the gym, ride his bike, and he loves COOKING! (AND HE LOVES BUZZ LIGHTYEAR TOO!).” – Liana

When did you realize that you wanted to spend the rest of your lives with each other? Did he propose? How was the proposal?
“It was a dream come true for me. The proposal truly blew my mind. It was on the 6th of October, and we were celebrating our 19 monthsary. I just got back from Canada and I had caught a skin allergy the day before. He insisted me to meet up with his client at South Jakarta. I rejected his idea at first, knowing that I still have that allergy and I was just so tired. But he brought me to a café anyways, and after we had ordered some food, he went to the toilet. All of a sudden, the customers around me began to sing, and the entire café turned into a mini choir! Yet again, I was so stunned. He kneeled down on one knee and asked the question, and of course I said YES. After that, I found out that he booked the entire café for the proposal and arranged all of the singers. I was so utterly happy.” – Liana
