How did you two meet and where? Do you still remember your first date, what was it like?
“It was at a villa, and we were first introduced to each other by a mutual friend. We both happened to be on vacation. At that time, Johannes was having a complicated relationship with his girlfriend… so they broke up not too long after that. The timing was never right. Soon enough, I was the one in a relationship, and Johannes was the one living the single life. After a while, because we didn’t get my parents’ blessing, that relationship of mine ended. Johannes was quick to learn the news. He then made an intentional move to start getting to know me deeper ever since.
Our first ‘date’ was in a car. We drove around aimlessly until it was really late at night. The destination didn’t matter to us, but the stories that we told about ourselves made us closer to each other that night.” – Marcy
How long have you been dating?
“It’s been 6 years since we started dating”
Is there a special moment that you will remember for always?
“We’re very simple and laid-back. The one thing that I will always remember is when he was pursuing me, he didn’t give me a gift for my birthday… he just sang ‘Happy Birthday’ on the phone. But, even so, I know that this is something extra and sweet for him to do.” – Marcy
“I don’t know what it is with us and birthdays… the one thing I remember is also something that happened on my birthday. We’ve been in a relationship for so long that when my birthday came, Marcy didn’t remember to wish me a ‘happy birthday’. She eventually remembered thanks to one of her friends’ post on social media and tried to make it up to me for it. It was really funny and sweet.” – Johannes
What do you like doing together? Do you have something unique that you collect or spend on?
“Well, we both love travelling and go on culinary trips. Yes, food is something we both can definitely agree on! We also like to spend time watching movies together.”
What are your favorite types of songs and movies?
“We share a love for action and horror movies. We’re not that into music, though. We just enjoy EDM music in general.”
When did you realize that you wanted to spend the rest of your lives with each other? Did he propose?
“I don’t think there was a need for a proposal. We just knew that this was the path that we wanted to take together! As we progressed in our relationship, facing problems and many obstacles together as partners, we realised after a while that we can do this and be with each other for the rest of our lives. So, I guess our journey towards marriage didn’t have to start with a ‘proposal’. It was more like a journey for us.”

“It was so fun! We learnt a lot because we found it so hard to pose in front of a camera. Luckily, Donny was really helpful. He helped us to relax and be ourselves.”
What characteristics that most describe Johannes?
“Johannes is the detached type… he knows what he should and shouldn’t take into his heart. He isn’t easily offended and doesn’t overthink on a lot of things. But what I love most about him is his loyalty and kindness. He’s kind to me in the selfless way.”
What characteristics that most describe Marcy?
“I guess, she’s a “storyteller”. Which means that she talks a lot, but it’s interesting to learn about her way of thinking through how she talks. She’s also kind and caring. I’m sometimes surprised by how much she cares and pays attention about even the smallest things. She’s more the ‘feeler’ in our relationship, which makes me learn how to respond to her in certain situations.”
Describe your relationship in 3 words.
“Loving, affectionate, and understanding. We think what makes us “us” is that we understand each other deeply. We don’t need many large gestures when it comes to expressing our love for each other. We have our own unique way of communicating that.”
